Adventures with
Mum and Aunty Norrie
#17

Mum seems to be in ‘happy land’. She’s not experiencing the amount of confusion or imaginings that Norrie is living in her day to day life.

Mum has many more lucid days than Norrie and whilst there is a great deal of repetition from Mum, at least sometimes we can hold a reasonable conversation. At this stage it seems that Mum’s short-term memory has completely deserted her, but she only experiences confusion spasmodically.

Caring for Norrie, makes me realize how precious these days are with my mother.

My sister and I will not have many more of these lucid and special times with my mother. Inevitably our conversations, be they very odd at times, will become less and less as the disease progresses.
