Adventures with
Mum and Aunty Norrie
#6

Unfortunately, if tablets are not in a Chemist prepared ‘Webster-Pak’, a Community Aged Care Carer cannot oversee the taking of the prescribed tablets by the person who they visit. I know because I asked.

I knew Norrie wasn’t taking her morning tablets, even though she swore she did. In her mind, she genuinely believed she was taking her tablets, even when the evidence was shown to her that the same number of tablets was still in the packets after a week.

I had hoped that the Carer calling in on Norrie in the morning would be able to remind Norrie to take her morning tablets and watch her as she took her necessary medication. But unless Norrie’s tablets are in a ‘Webster-Pak’ the Carer can’t help in that respect.
